Does your pup go through toys like his life depends on it? If yes, then you need to learn how to make homemade dog toys for your beloved chewer.

My boy Delta Bunny cannot allow his new toys to even last a day in that velociraptor mouth of his. Within five minutes of getting a new toy, I will be provided with its carcass and a very innocent face telling me, “momma get something stronger. This one did not last…hehe”

So if you have a pup like mine, then you need to master the art of making homemade dog toys. The techniques I will show you here are super simple, easy and can be made with items available around your home. Also, you don’t have to worry about dealing with the DIY dog toy’s carcass as you can re-fix these in no time. Thus, here are some of the best homemade dog toys to keep your pup busy.

Dog toys importance:

Toys play a huge role in shaping a dog’s mind during its formative years. The following are the ways toys benefit dogs:

Provide an apt amount of mental stimulation

If your dog is not provided with enough mental stimulation, he or she is likely to indulge themselves in chewing your shoes, tearing the couch, stealing and tearing your socks, etc. Toys like puzzle toys provide mental engagement to your dog and also enhance their problem-solving skills.

Exercise

How do you expect to make your dog exercise if you don’t have a ball?  Treats work well when the guardian is around. However, when the dog is playing by himself or herself, toys play a huge role in keeping him or her busy and providing some indoor exercise like fetching, tugging, wrestling etc.

Comfort

A lot of dogs are known to associate comfort with soft fluffy toys. This comfort is especially important when you are not in the house and tour dog is alone. This may also help if your dog suffers from separation anxiety. However, you may want to rethink buying a stuffed toy if your dog is a heavy chewer like my Delta.

Fun

This is a point meant for both you and your dog. Playtime is fun time as well as a great bonding opportunity. You can also add in some training during playtime. This, I suggest you don’t miss out on the same.

This is a personal favorite of mine. This one keeps Delta busy for a good amount of time.

  • Put the treat in the center and roll the cloth width-wise.
  • Tie a knot securing the treat inside the knot.
  • You can make as many treat knots as you want.

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any techniques to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d certainly appreciate it.
